Blogger blog has already introduced custom domain name, so if you are going to purchase a domain name through Google Blogger, there’s no issue in setting it up because Blogger automatically configures CNAME records in their databases. However, if you bought the domain name, separately then you have to configure it manually. In this post, I am going to show you how to setup or host your domain name on Blogger Blogging Platform.
Step 2: Under third-party domain settings enter your custom domain name that you have purchased and also don’t forget to use “www” prefix in front of your domain name. Like you can see in the screenshot I have written www.sharetrick.com
Step 3: Now click on save button. After click on save you will see an error message, saying “We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12” as you can see in this following screenshot.
Step 4: Now under these errors message, you can see "CNAME" records details under the area “Name, Label or Host Field” and “Destination, Target, or Points To Field” (highlighted in aqua in the screenshot). Please note down this records because you will need these details later.
Now it's time to log in to your domain control panel and follows the steps below to edit CNAME and A records, so don’t worry if you are not using Godaddy.com you can view steps for modifying DNS info here.
If you followed all the steps and still not able to set up your custom domain name for Blogger, then contact me using Comments/Email, I will be happy to help you.
